Disciples are people who follow a specific teacher, learn from them, imitate them, and spend their time with them. In biblical times, the most devoted disciples would even begin to walk with the same gait as their teachers and be covered in the dust from their teacher’s sandals because they followed so closely behind him. As disciples of Christ, we model our lives after His first disciples.
One of Jesus’ first acts in beginning His public ministry was to form His small group (Matthew 4:18-22, Luke 6:13). The son of God certainly did not need the companionship or assistance of the disciples. Yet, from the very beginning, He elected to establish and minister within a framework of interpersonal relationships.
At Queen of Peace "we seek to build an authentic Catholic culture and community where we share all of life together and where the fullness of the Catholic Faith is proclaimed, lived, and celebrated." We seek to build a culture of discipleship!
Step 1The first step in how we accomplish this, is to support and equip the faithful of our parish to form small groups where relationships are strengthened and the Catholic faith is shared and learned. We have multiple discipleship groups for youth and adults that meet on an on-going basis. Our goal is to help every member of our parish find belonging in a group, so if you have yet to find a group, please reach out so that we can help you get connected to our beautiful community.
